Echoes of a Day – een papieren alternatief voor het algoritme
In een tijd waarin beelden op social media vaak verdwijnen in de stroom van algoritmes, kies ik bewust voor papier. Een langzamer medium, met meer aandacht. Echoes of a Day maakt mijn foto’s voelbaar en zichtbaar op een manier die Instagram nooit kan evenaren. Niet gestuurd door likes of bereik, maar door de behoefte om te tonen wat anders verborgen blijft.
Bovendien: in een tijd waarin beelden vooral digitaal circuleren, wil ik iets maken dat blijft. Iets dat je vast kunt houden. Geen vluchtige post, maar een object dat langzaam bekeken mag worden. Een echo van dagen die geweest zijn stil, onopvallend, en juist daarom waardevol.
Echoes of a Day verschijnt in A4-formaat en is gedrukt in een oplage van 100 exemplaren – 50 in het Nederlands, 50 in het Engels en kost € 4,50 inclusief verzendkosten.

In a time when images on social media are quickly swept away by the endless flow of algorithms, I consciously choose paper. A slower medium. One that invites more attention.
Echoes of a Day brings my photographs to life in a way Instagram never could — not driven by likes or reach, but by a desire to show what would otherwise remain unseen.
While most images today exist only in digital space, I wanted to create something that lasts. Something you can hold. Not a fleeting post, but a physical object meant to be viewed slowly. A quiet echo of days gone by — still, unnoticed, and all the more meaningful because of it.
Echoes of a Day is printed in A4 format and comes in a limited edition of 100 copies – 50 in Dutch and 50 in English. Each copy costs €4.50, including shipping.
