Carrying the Songs is an international art exhibition taking place at Pulchri Studio in The Hague from 4–26 July 2026. This collaborative showcase brings together visual artists from Ireland and the Netherlands, responding to the thematic poetry of Irish poet Moya Cannon's award-winning collection Carrying the Songs.

The exhibition is a joint initiative between three cultural institutions:

• Embassy of Ireland in the Netherlands

• Hamilton Gallery, Sligo

• Pulchri Studio, The Hague

Inspired by Moya Cannon's eponymous poem — which explores memory, migration, music, and the endurance of culture across generations — the exhibition presents new paintings and artworks created specifically for this presentation.

Visit Pulchri Studio, Lange Voorhout 15, The Hague, during the exhibition run to experience contemporary artwork from both sides of the Irish Sea in dialogue with one of Ireland's most celebrated poets.

In this photograph from the Another Place series, the elongated shadow of a leaf stretches across soft textile, echoing the idea that the past casts long shadows. The image reflects how memory leaves its traces—subtle, shifting, and often more present than the objects themselves.

This zine is a quiet reply to the noise of digital media. No algorithms, no scrolling, no rush. Just paper, presence, and time.

Among facades and branches, under a stormy sky, the question lingers: Where do I belong?
