All Craftsmanship — Behind the Making of Echoes of a Day

Making a zine may look like a small thing, but believe me: it is big work. Photographing, selecting, deciding the right sequence, printing, finishing — and then also the selling and the getting-the-word-out. All of it is craftsmanship.

In June 2025 I released my first zine. An exciting moment that carried a great deal of time, care and attention. The reactions were heartwarmingly positive. The Dutch edition in particular quickly found its way to readers. And in those first weeks it is, of course, wonderful to actively share the sales and notice that people are curious.

The challenge now? Holding the attention

Because a zine is not only a moment of launching, but also one of returning. Of speaking the invitation again and again: to pause for a moment, to look, to leaf through.

Have you given yourself that moment yet?

Just on the sofa, with a zine in your hands. No shopping lists, no judgements. Only images, in their own rhythm. Images that leave room for your own thoughts, memories and associations. Back to the first rays of sun in spring, forward to the shorter days ahead, and perhaps also to the good intentions quietly announcing themselves.

Are you ready?
