On social media, photographs often disappear as quickly as they appear. You post something, get a few likes maybe, and then the image slides away into an endless stream. Increasingly, I felt the need to step out of that flow — to make space for something slower, something tangible.
With Echoes of a Day, I wanted to create an alternative. Not a fleeting post, but an object. A paper time capsule of moments that touched me: quiet, unobtrusive, almost overlooked. It is precisely those moments that deserve attention — not for their spectacle, but for their presence.
Daily moments, preserved in print
The photographs in this zine were taken over the past six months. They are images from everyday life — on the street, while travelling, at home — from situations that struck me for various reasons: their light, composition, atmosphere, or simply their simplicity. Sometimes they inspired me, sometimes intrigued me, and sometimes they were just there. There is no named narrative in this selection, but together they form a quiet reflection on the rhythm of ordinary life. Nothing extraordinary, yet full of meaning. Through and within the everyday.
Editing
Sometimes obvious — never easy
Designed for calm viewing
When creating Echoes of a Day, I consciously chose an A4 format: a shape that feels low-threshold and accessible, yet still offers space for images. At the same time, I opted for sturdier paper than a regular newspaper — 120 grams with an off-white tone — so the photographs come into their own in a softer way. The paper absorbs light just enough to give the images a matte, almost dreamlike appearance. No gloss, no glare, just calm.
